....... where joist centres are at 380mm? Would I need Noggin the Nogs with 9.5mm plasterboard?

'No' is a good answer to save time and money.... but not if it should be 'yes'! Many thanks.

yes use noggins even with 12.5 as your joints will crack after decorating

Well that's that answered. Thanks guys. Ps quite mean, not quite as mean as you think (!)- 9.5 was to help save my poor old back : J

I guess my back might get over it: do you know what the hire shop board lifters are like in case I can't get help? Thanks

I rarely use 9.5mm boards. I would never use them on a ceiling and only put them on walls if the customer is supplying.

Im looking into hiring a board lifter for a job where the ceiling needs to be done in soundblock boards.

Ill be interested to see if they are any good too.

I had a share in one once, and although cumbersome and a bit of a space stealer it made boarding ceilings a dream.

You can make a "one off" board lifter specific to the job out of some 4x2 & it costs F/all; all you need at the other end is a stout yard boom!
