Is there a calculation or table to help you choose what size heater you need for a bedroom ?

There is a formula but first you need to tell us the volume of your room.
Generally though a 2kW heater will suffice.
Generally you don't put storage heaters in bedrooms. They're heated at night when the lecky is cheap anyway, and a fully charged storage heater might be uncomfortably warm.
The various manufacturers often have calculators on their sites where you put in the room dimensions, wall types, and it returns an approximate guesstimate.

This is a ridiculous formula even before criticising it for being given with no appreciation of either :
a) Extent of insulation
b) Local variations in UK
granted, I should have stated it was a rough guide but the OP is from herefordshire which isnt exactly in the shetland islands. so, apart from the insulation of the property, please critisise my formula further frenchman...
Well, it does depend a lot on whether you measure in ft or metres.

We'd stick to SI units and measure it in metres. It's standard practice nowadays.

Ah it's ok, everyone's coming out now to add bits to show they know how to work it out.
Anyone can see that such a basic formula is only a rough guide.
just get a 3kw plug in heater with a timer, that will be fine.

I was going to select higher anyway as it is a VERY VERY cold room.
(seen ice on the inside of the window)
Just wanted to be sure I didn't get one too small.
I think I want a storage heater as this will hopefully put heat into the room all the time, and if I set the vents open, lots at night.

e) yeap 1 drafty window lol
f) Single glazing sach window
g) No Heated room below (garage)
