Worcester 30si no hot water

Hello all

The above boiler will turn out hot water on demand, then switch off.

Hot cold
Hot cold.

Don't stay on long enough for a bath.

It must be secoudary heat exchanger.

Would it work if I took it out and added a Kettle descaler into it.

or is a powerflush the answer.

Or should I just replace the unit?

Any advice?

Bodd

Remove and clean it with kettle descaler but you'll need to sort the system out to stop it happening again

How do you mean Andy?

I have a inline descaler installed, plenty of inhibitor. It was a brand new system 5-6 years ago.
Inline line strainer on heating side, (unaware of Magnacleans at that time)

Sounds like it's blocked to me so either sludge/flakes of black iron oxide on the primary side or scale on the mains side.

Yea. I've got designer rads and I think they do have more debri around than the average rad.

But like I say I did install a line strainer. Got plety of flakes of black iron oxide, when I cleaned it out.

I have a spare magnetic filter hanging around so I should really fit that while I'm at it.

Thanks Andy

Will let you know how I got on
