The bottom line is true

The top line is false

Which line is true? Which line is false?

So their is 2 lines of text, followed by 2 questions

What don't you understand

Technically neither, because the bottom line consists of questions which are neither true nor false. ;)

The first line is false, simply because it states that the second line is true. therefore the second line is true because it says the first line is false. (which is true)
Logical dear captain.

So the second line is true because it states the first line is false

but

the first line says the bottom line is true which means the top line is false

No paradox there at all sooey. The main question is which statement is false, therefore it must be the top line. It's a play on words , because the top statement has the word true in it (even though it's a false statement)

It's an old problem, often thrown at would-be students of philosophy (which, we were informed at school, is a very hard subject).

I'll leave the philosophers to argue about the semantics of it. To me, it's a logic race which will either settle into a stable half-way state or oscillate. Now where can I attach a scope probe ---

Ah yes I've seen this one elsewhere before.

Both of them are false.

Whilst one says it is true, and the other false. They both cancel each other out, so are ultimatly false.
