I've got 4 old parafin lamps that I'd like to clean up and paint.

I just wondered if anyone could recommend what kind of paint I use to paint them with? It would only be the tank and the upper parts above the glass shroud.

Would I have to prime it or anything like that?

You could use stove enamel , or bar-b-q paint heat resistant and available in a spray can.

Are they pressurized paraffin lamps? ie. Tilly lamps, if so spares are still available. A spray finish would look better, high temperature enamel can be had in a variety of colours from motor factors.
