SORRY PEOPLE,MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT THIS.I HAVE A NEW TAP INSTALLED,THAT TAKES 2 BAR PRESSURE. I NEED A PUMP INSTALLED,IM IN SOUTHAMPTON. I GOT THE TAP FROM WADS, A PLUMMER CAME OUT TO INSTALL THE PUMP.BUT SAID HES NEVER DONE ONE BEFORE,WENT AWAY WITHOUT A QUOTE, IVE BEEN TOLD THEY ARE QUITE EASY TO FIT,IM A DIYER.BUT HOMEBASE ARE PAYING THE BILL,AS LONG AS ITS NOT HIGH CAN ANYONE HELP.

Why are homebase paying the bill?

There is usually quite a lot of work to fit a pump, perhaps 2-4 hours or more! Apart from everything else it needs an electricity supply.

I dont understand how a "plumber" comes out to you only to say he has never fitted one before and then goes!

homebase fitted the kitchen, fitten a 800 pound tap, which needed a 2bar pressure.the fitter didnt know at the time,so now have a tap that dribbles.hence homebase will pay the bill.WADS of (southampton) supplied the tap. they sent the so called plumber,to fit it. so now we have to get a plumber to quote a price to fit.long drawn out bloody problem.LESSON LEARNT FOR ME NEVER GO TO HOMEBASE. under the sink there are a lot of flexy hoses, thats why the plumber is confused. there is electrics in the cuboard.

Most kitchen taps cost about £80.

I suppose the motto is that if you are buying a top of the range product then a top of the range installer is needed.

Of course you reasonably expected that the supplier would have sent a suitable installer.

However, it seems they are accepting responsibility and thats going to cost them a lot !

Still try Kevin!

I'm intrigued to know what an £800 tap looks like... tell us more!

Mine cost £100 complete with a 1.5 bowl s/s sink, and has been fantastic since installed 5 years ago. Homebase too

I believe an £800 tap usually comes with a free sink and a free kitchen
