just watched the lottery "advert "saying how positive it can be

its a shame they are not forced to spend 1 % off there budget explaining how the least able to afford and the addicted are the main funders to this form off misery for the people concerned
now i do accept there are good causes and most people can afford and control there spending but i would say that desperation and addiction provides more than half the income causing poverty and abject poverty to many families in the poorer and often better off sections off society

and before you ask i used to be addicted to fruit machines but kicked the habit before i had family responcibilitys understand the pain and anguish off addiction but not the starvation and depravity in a family situation

... but how you make it harder (without taxing it) i have no idea !!

Wotan

my spelling used to be far worse my grammar obviously still is but i am trying :D

you do realise that people are different with different abilities different skill levels and different prioritys
my worst subject at school was french then english as they bored me to sleep

wood work metal work tecnical drawing maths i excelled at :D
at least i make the effort to try and learn even now 8)

spell checker has no suggestions for "tecnical" can some one please post the correct spelling

It's "technical"

(Also, "prioritys" should be "priorities". The normal rule when making a word that ends in "y" into a plural is to replace the "y" with "ies" - UNLESS (and there's always an unless in english!) the word ends in "ey" when you just add an "s". So "valley" becomes "valleys")

Written with good intentions! :)

The OP made a logical post with a couple of spelling and grammatical errors, that did not distract from my understanding of his post.

Perhaps all you pedantic perfectionists of the English language would get off your high horses and realise that everyone is not as perfect as yourselves.

If you do not want to discuss the original topic, why not just butt out.

As for the lottery and other forms of gambling, they are all taxed to such an extent that the government makes a tidy sum from them, so if anything, the government should either ban all forms of gambling (which would never happen) or spend some of the revenue they receive from it in helping those addicted to it.
