Hi all,

I have black finished showers boards used in a shower enclosure. The tray is white. Wondering what colour silicone to use. White or clear?

Also would be interested to know people's thoughts on the best way to apply it. Using finger only, masking tape etc.

Any help appreciated.

to get a perfectly straight edge on the silicone i would mask on the shower tray and the shower boards. apply the silicone and smooth with a damp finger ensuring not to apply too much silicone as this could leave a step at the edges. not everyone prefers this method though.

as with regards to colour it would depend on the gap between the boards and the tray. if a bigish gap i would use white or black, for a tight gap i would probably opt for the clear.

Thanks for the response.

I wasn't aware you could get black sanitary silicone. Have you used this against white sanitary and did it look okay?
