Hi....i'm looking to re-seal round my shower tray with new white silicone.
Is there a best stuff to use ?
Is there an easy way to remove the old discoloured silicone ?

any and all advice appreciated.

Buy a good quality silicone with a mould inhibitor. I use Dow Corning 785

Use a stanley knife, sharp chisel to remove the existing sealant being careful not to scratch the tray.

Clean all soap residue away from the area that you are applying the seal to, use methalated spirits to degrease thoroughly (not white spirits as this is an oil based product)

Put masking tape either side of the joint that you are about to seal to avoid a messy finish.

Apply the silicone, smooth off with a finger dipped in a solution of washing up liquid and water.

Stand back and admire your workmanship.

Go down the pub and have a beer.

..thanks Bilioustrumpstaine, excellent... how can I go wrong

....and if you're in the pub I'll buy you one too....LOL

cheers....Mike
