Blowing a typhoon and lashing down up here today. This is what is happening down the road.
This youngster is scrambling around this roof top like squirrel without any ladders which you can see are all nicely strapped down on the van.
See there is no problem with over zealous Euro bureaucats imposing over the top health and safety regulations on us.

If that had happened I'm sure he would have sued someone and some Judge who's totally out of touch with reality would have awarded him some lovely compo...

In a row of terraces near me there are two houses having roofs re tiled. One has two monkeys running up ladders (no roof ladders they are walking on lats) the other has full scaffolding, roof ladders, Hi Vis tape etc. I wonder which one is making more profit??

Seems to be the norm, not long ago a firm from Wales were in the area, doing loads of roofs near me, ie pressure wash the tiles of, hand paint all edges and around stacks then spray paint the tiles.
One guy on the ground and one on the roof, he used ladder to access the roof at gutter height but walked all over the roof leaning over the edge to hand paint the bottom rows of tiles.
8.5k per roof and they were doing a roof a day, could have a scaffold included at those prices.
Plus the roofs look crap.

What was the point of the work ?

Surely rather than taking photographs, it would have been better to go and educate these people about the possible dangers?

You should have phoned Newcastle Roofing on 0191 5438556 , told them the address and asked "WTF is your employee doing on a roof without any safety equipment?"
Then sat back and watched the antics as the chap on the roof tries to hang on whilst chatting on his mobile phone.

It might just have been the guy on the roof that answered.

8.5k per roof??? to wash and paint??? no wonder i'm not making a profit, i charge 3.5k for an up and over roof and 4.5k for a 1930's semi with a hip, that is new batons, felt, tiles plastic eaves carriers and dry ridge/hip system.
   maybe its time to put my prices up.

ah, but if you keep powerwashing the roofs, you will erode the surface, thus drumming up more business (not to mention the repaints when it starts to peel and fade)

His plan was to wait till the guy fell then claim compo himself for the trauma he suffered after watching the 'accident'.
Guy didn't fall so he posted pics to vent his anger! :D :D

But if he had done that would he not be just another big thug sticking his nose in like the guy on the train in Scotland that everybodies getting their knickers in a twist about. Assuming you still got your knickers on.
