People living in the UK should not be exported if it means they could face an unfair trial or torture.

Just remember the same law that protects him, protects YOU!

The real issue here is he should never have been allowed in, once they are in, you have to give them fair treatment.


As someone else said, you can't expect them to follow our laws, if you are not going to apply the law fairly to them.

You might argue it's better to give up this small protection from government law enforcement (who never get things wrong or conduct mistrials ) than to let this **** stay.

But then people should make that argument.

It's not just as simple as "chuck him out" because it's the GOVERNMENT not the people that will "chuck him out", be careful about giving the government such power.

That's funny, because I distinctly remember the labour government winning the election 3 times in a row, the same party that signed the relevant EU treaties and enacted the over generous welfare payments that "the people" now are against.

The people got what they voted for.

Now they suddenly realise they didn't read the small print and what they actually voted for*, now they want it changed back, well changing laws takes time, and laws are generally not retrospective.

We have a grown up law system, rules written down on paper that apply to all in the country, rules are not made for individuals, if "the people" want this law amended to allow the extradition of non UK born to foreign countries that allow torture, then they should vote for this, not just "heaw guvnr we wont him out raaaaa!!!"

That means writing to your MP to raise awareness of the issue, campaigns to have the law changed, threats of voting for someone who will do it, then debates in the law courts as to the framing of the law.

Or we could just have the government change law willy nilly based upon "What the people want".

You know, the same people that voted for this **** in the first place.

Well in Russia, they just make people disappear (yes, post soviet Russia).

The government has a long history of not following the rule of law...

*Although so many people just vote for their colour like they would a football team (Red/Blue/Yellow/Green) they don't even bother to read the large print.

Briton have grounds to prosecute but they won't because it's a matter of national security!!!! So me thinks he's not all they are making him out to be.

Had all of this happened 30 yrs ago, he would have been deported faster tan you could say "Johnny Foreigner." As it is Qatada uses the very laws he hates to ensure his continuing stay in this country. Like so many non indigenous criminals, hiding behind the pernicious Human Rights Laws. They disregard everyone else's Human Rights , then claim it's against their Human Rights to be deported for breaking the law. In it's present form the Human Rights Act is untenable.
High time the HR laws were replaced with a Human Responsibilities Act instead. Forego your responsibilities to society and face the consequences, and make these consequences harsh and severe.
