when my heating turns on one of my radiators makes a loud noise what could be the problem

Air in the system.
Turn the Central heating off, vent (bleed) all the radiators upstairs.
Check the pressure of the system hasn't dropped below 1 bar, if it has top it up (if its a pressureised system).
Turn the central heating on again.
