I haven't a clue about plumbing so would like some advice please. When I turn on the cold tap in my bath, it only turns about a quarter of a turn and then stops and the water just trickles. Is this sometning I could do myself with help, or would I need a plumber?

Do you have cold water from your basin tap?
If yes, then the worm has come apart in your tap head.

Probably easier to get a pair of Tap Revivers ( new heads) from a DIY store
not expensive items .
