Bought a van that was sign written and have taken all the letters off, what's the best way to get the sticky sh!T off? Got tol to rub it with a cloth with petrol then t cut it, this the best way? Looking to take it off soon and put my own writing on it, thanks in advance to any decent advice

I done my last van with white spirit and then t cut it.
You'll still see where the sign writings been but all the sticky will be gone.

Well I'm getting writing over the top anyway but wanting rid of the sticky and outline first

not ideal but i always use a bit of petrol to remove sticker residue and give it a good wash afterwards, great for removing tar spots too.
hair dryer can work too, wont damage paint. petrol etc can leave van side looking streaky if you're not careful specially large areas
t cut can take ages & leave very clean looking marks where it was unless you do the whole van! (dep on howe old van/paint is...)
I'd take it to a valetor who has use an electric or compressor driven polisher & won't charge too much for 5mins to get off.

Good point. Van had respray 2years ago but intend to t cut the whole lot at writing was all over the place.
I used the hairdryer to take the letters off, I was looking for something that would separate the sticky **** away from the paint so it's easier to t cut. Will try white spirit then petrol I think
if it's had a respray I'd go easy on it, could easily take the respray paint right off dep on how much was put on.. gentle rubs with the t cut and my idea of valetters policher might not be such a good plan could strip new paint right off but if you tell them might be ok
The amount of water used at same time as cutting agent ususally determines cutting effect strength (always says use dry in instructions but add water to dilute the cutting effect is a good idea in your case..)
