is it worth the extra £100 for an induction hob ?

hello..have just a few days to choose a ceramic hob as kitchen fitter will be fitting the worktops! seen a few baumatic beko fagor ceramic hobs today around £200 decent quality fair enough..but is it recomended to pay the extra £50-100 for an induction hob the way forward etc as swaying towards that option tbh..like the baumatic bhi 609 induction hob at direct discounts huddersfeild...opinions plz cheers again :)

Based on my experience, yes.

Only downside is you can only use some pans, magnetic ones.

The pans can be exspensive they have to have a magnetic "biscuit" within the base the only way you can tell is if it says suitable for induction on the packing . The real advantage of induction is only the pan itself gets hot so when the pan is removed the hob cools very quickly which is a lot safer for obvious reasons . The downside is when they go wrong they can cost typically £300-£450 to repair them as most of the time a circuit board is involved so you may want to exstend the warranty .
