Veritas Excel Pins

I've just changed over the Master user and Boss Engineer pins. As a test, I tried the previous pins which are the standard factory pins and they can still full set or part set the system.

There are no other users programmed, every other possible user is set to Null.

However, if I've full set or part set as the master user, the old pins aren't unsetting the alarm at all and the old pins can't get access to any program menus, but it's still confusing how the panel appears to recognise the old pins to set the system. Any ideas at all? Ta.

Yes.

If you've swapped them over then at some point the codes for the engineer and user will have been the same, which the system doesn't allow.

For example, if the master user was 1111 and the engineer was 2222, then you'd have to change the master user's to say 9999 and the engineers to 8888, to then change the engineers to 1111 and users to 2222. See, the codes have been swapped but haven't at any point been the same

You get me?

I don't understand, as the codes have never been the same. The new codes have never been used before.

The old Master user and Boss Engineer user have new codes which don't cross over and the system gladly accepted.

Me is being fick innit or someting?

You said you'd changed the codes over, i thought you meant swapped the codes over!!!!. What you actually mean then is you've changed them and the old code still works? Does the new code work?

If both codes work, then you've changed another code e.g. user 2 and not the master or engineer codes.

If the new code doesn't work but the old one does then you haven't changed the code! Make sure you're following the manual correctly

I followed it to the letter...

Changed the master to a new code and boss to a new code and no other users are programmed, users 3-8 are set to null. Weird innit.
