Can anybody give me a general rate for per hour tiling or do you normally quote.
ive had a few quotes for my bathroom and one is very cheap and the other seems silly expensive?
Room size is 4mX3m
Running tiles over the bath then floor to ceiling on the internal wall.
No floor tile.
Cheers

Cheapest was £90 All in. Another was £240 plus extra for beading grout and glue.
Then another guy quoted 20 quid and hour and would 2 days but extras were included.

You need to get quotes for the whole job, as per hour is meaningless. Some tilers are quick, a few are slow. On a job like this someone could quote a low hourly rate, but if they're slow, what seemed reasonable will work out expensive.

Also, try posting in the tiling dept for more response.

Well all ive done is ask for quotes so far.
So if i asked for a full tile floor to ceiling with extras ie beads glue and spacers. On those diamensions what sort of figure should i be expecting back as a quote?

All in means job complete. No hidden extras..
Ie pay for the job and it gets done

With all jobs being different, any ideas of quotes on here would be guesswork. Best to try asking the tilers, perhaps they can give you an idea per sq m.

If it were me, I would ask for quotes with a definite descrption of the job you want, materials, extras, etc. Get a total cost from three different tilers for the job, all inclusive. If any can't do this, go elsewhere. Try friends, neighbours, colleagues for recommendations of tradesmen.

Adhesive and trim is provided by you? Tiler turns up, does his stuff and doesn't need to bring anything other than his tools?

Tiling is not charged by the hour but by the sq mtr.

If your quoter's don't come in with a straight edge and check the walls for flatness - send them packing.

If it's a one day job look to pay £160 - to £180 plus materials at cost.

If the walls are 'out' then you have to allow for a re-plaster.
