Skirting boards

Im laying wood flooring and want new skirting boards, but, Is there such thing as over skirting? To save ripping off the old stuff? Lazy I know!

beads around laminate floor edges is the most disgusting way of doing things, just awful. BUT lots of work doing it any other way which presume most people wont want to pay for...
