If we can have endless memorials for a few dead football fans, why not a few minutes silence for someone who has actually done something for their country?

Reading through some of the negative comments on here about OUR armed forces, you realise why this country is f**ked and why we're in the state that we are in. Certain people think it wrong to have pride in the armed forces, and honour the fallen ones. You can only conclude that the negative comments about the armed services are from those who are from a long line of bed-wetting conchies.

Drummer Rigby was a young man who was also a serving soldier. He was targetted and murdered by alien savages in a barbaric and cowardly way. He was killed in a war that started on 9/11 and is still going on, through 7/7 and more recently the Boston marathon bombings. The enemy is amongst us, let in by stupid politicians and now fed, clothed and educated by the British taxpayers. The war will never end, and it is only because of a constant, massive covert security operation here and in other countries, that there have not been more atrocities.

For those that just see our troops as 'cannon fodder', I am thinking of starting a new charity, called Help For Zeroes. Anyone who would like to donate can help fund spinal implants for these unfortunate individuals.

He was murdered, he didn't die at the hands of the enemy in combat. David Cameron told me so. It wasn't those pesky muslim fundamentalists. Boris told me so. He was a civilian murdered by a civilian.

That's rubbish... Lee Rigby was killed in the name of allah. In retribution for the killing going on in Afghanistan.

Two points really... firstly, millions of our soldiers died preventing the Germans taking over this country, and you lot are only here because of that.

And secondly, I'm an atheist, yet I'm seeing my society, my civil liberty, my context changing because of Islam... what the fook is Islam? I am a free man, and I don't bow to Thor or the elephant god or zeus or hera... or the golden unicorn, or the tooth fairy, so why should I have to do ANYTHING in order to respect a supernatural being? I won't.

I told him to fook of because he was whinging about how much he hated the forum, so the obvious thing for him to do is go elswhere.
And comparing dead fans to dead soldiers doesn't work. Fans don't expect to die at football matches. Soldiers enlist knowing the risks they may be asked to run. Most of them do so for the adventurous lifestyle and good luck to them. That doesn't make all of them heroes, some of them are absolute coonts, there's one in particular who I know whose head I'd like to hack off myself if I thought i could get away with it.

Secondly, no one goes to a football match expecting to die,I'll agree with that, in much the same as an off duty soldier doesn't expect to be killed in such a barbaric way on some London Street.
