Replace existing wall timer with evotouch relay BDR91

Hi All,

I have an Vokera 36HE boiler wired up to a time switch and I’d like to zone up the house using a Honeywell Evotouch system. I am looking into what is required to swap out the existing timeclock for the BDR91 relay box.

I have isolated and opened up the boiler and removed the front panel from the existing Drayton LP111 wall timer I’d be grateful if someone could help by confirming what wires need to go where based on the Honeywell diagrams in the BDR91 manual.

There are five wires serving the wall timer, two appear to come from the M5 block on the boiler the other the remaining three are E / N / L which are isolated when I switch the fused spur on the wall adjacent the boiler. This fused spur also isolates the boiler.

I’ve pdf’d a load of photos and some extracts from the wiring diagrams and placed them as a single file in my dropbox account:

I'm just after some re-assurance - section 2.3 of the BDR91 shows four wiring diagrams the second one showing the boiler with T1 & T2 appears to closest match the setup I have. In this case I think need to wire as follows:

Wires from fused spur:
Live – Wire to ‘L’ terminal
Neutral – Wire to ‘N’ terminal
Earth – Not in use

Wires from M5 block:
Brown wire previously connected to terminal 1 on the time clock – wire to ‘A’
Blue wire previously connected to terminal 3 on the time clock – wire to ‘B’

FYI, the brown wire and blue wire going to the timeclock appear to be switching 230V. I’m assuming the BDR91 can accept this and isn’t looking for a lower voltage signal such as 5 or 10V.
 
If you are doing it yourself, all i can say is follow the manufacturers instructions to the letter, technically, unless you are an RGI, then you shouldn't even have the case off.

The case is purely decorative it does not form an integral part of the appliance I'm not touching any fittings which affect the gas part of the system. AFAIK there is no problem with me doing this.

If you can answer my query about the wiring I'd appreciate it.

Yup, that looks right to me. And yes, the BDR91 will be happy switching 230V
