Any chance of pipes freezing with the weather as it is now, in an unoccupied house?

Usually the temperature needs to be below freezing for a prolonged period, but if the house is unoccupied it could happen quicker. Hard to say which precise circumstances but if the temperatures are sub zero then it is possible, although unlikely if the temperatures rise during the day.
Thanks when doing plumbing work in an unoccupied house do you usually turn the water off when finished?
If house is to be left unheated for a protracted period during cold spells, always best practice to isolate and drain down.
Also makes it easier for the scrotes to nick the copper.
