Toilet problem that's driving me insane

Ok so I have a problem with my toilet and water coming back up the 4" pipe onto my bathroom floor, I have used rods a snake and even had it jetted also
Not forgetting a camera to check and all seems fine ...

The bathroom is fairly new, the 4" pipe runs diagonally across the room under a cement floor the shower and sink are branched to that 4" pipe to the drain

Everytime I flush well maybe 8 out of 10 times the water seems to comes back up the 4" pipe and out onto the floor ... I just don't know what to do? The plumber who fitted it seems to think there is a blockage but it's been checked and I still have the problem and in all honesty he couldn't care less he questioned me about it and came out with the words " how long do you expect me to guarantee a job for " well more than 4 months I replied,so you can imagine what sort of man I'm dealing with. From that photo it looks like the pan connector isn't fitted properly, looks like its going straight into a 4" pushfit joint which wont create a proper seal, there should be a bit of 4 inch pipe pushed into the 4" socket and then the pan connector pushed into that to create a proper seal.

Also if water is backing up and there is no blockage, sound like there is a ventilation problem i.e not vent or air admittance valve on soil pipe.

Ok so I need a bit of 4"pipe the connect to that seal that's there and then connect again to that little bit of 4" pipe ... Is that bad workmanship or just a oversight?

Thats it, as for oversight or bad workmanship, i couldnt possibly say we all make mistakes fron time to time.

Yes that's true, I have no idea about ventilation I very much fount it's there, but thanks I'll give it a whirl in the morning!

That type of pan connector is designed to fit inside a 110mm/4" pipes, it'll never seal in a 110mm socket as you've found out. Either fit a short piece of 110mm pipe into the socket, then the pan connector into that or swap that pan connector for one with a plain 110mm spigot that'll fit straight into the socket.

Provided the drain isn't deeper than 1.3metres (measured vertically from the pan outlet) then it is perfectly acceptable to connect a ground floor W.C. directly to the drain.

Strangely enough, just been to a recent bathroom install today with same problem. Same sort of setup as this with wc directly in front of socket that is just above floor level. Except it was a flexi connector.

I'm the third plumber to investigate why there is always damp around the socket on floor. Installer had given up on it.

Short length of soil pipe, and Bob's your auntie's live in lover.

You may also wish to pull the rubber fins off and trim the pan connector down a bit. If it's shoved right into the corner of the bend then it will just create a restriction and swirl.

Not had a chance to do it today been busy in work, I'm a carpenter but have no clue went it comes to plumbing all that floating feces puts me off...

I shall do everything you recommended I'm ever so grateful for your feedback, I'll post as to how I got on

Good luck. Don't forget to chamfer the end of the pipe with a file before pushing it into the socket - or it will be difficult and may displace the seal in socket. Bit of lubrication (Fairy) on all the rubbers helps it go together.

then it is not a blockage - it`s a ventilation issue can you post a drawing of the drain run / manholes etc .
