Now is this by chance or design ?

Wobs -

Typical Norcon strategy.

He found a quote by Dawkins which he takes out of context, either deliberately or through genuine ignorance.

Having found this quote then feels the need to introduce it into a thread, even though it is off topic.

Uses this straw man to avoid the original debate.

Says that posters(like myself) see Dawkins as a god . Bearing in mind it is Norcon who brought him into the discussion, quite amusing.

When challenged to prove a previous statement not only is unable to do so, but starts more avoidance. (look back at this thread for quite a few examples)

Engages in circular arguments.

Makes huge leaps of reasoning with any logical links (eg I believe X , Look at Z therefore Y must be true.)

And all of this with a seeming lack of self awareness or irony.

I could go on Wobs, but you know this already.

Norcon, everyone is entitled to their beliefs. But if you are debating them, it is just a shame you don't have the tools to engage properly.
It's just too easy to apply logic and reason against you, which is why you get frustrated and either disengage or go off on another loop .

I really would like someone to make a good, reasoned, logical case to be considered, as then I could relflect on my position and perhaps alter it.

To date though - pretty poor stuff from a discussion point of view.

Creator is Conscious, an intelligent form of energy, way beyond our comprehension, which is responsible for the manifiestaion of matter into being and giving birth to conscious life, starting with a higher form and then into smaller and simpler forms through evolution as opposed to the otherway around, where todays evolutionist believe that all life form started from a single cell amoeba. But according to ancient Vedan or Vedic Culture, life was brought into play on purpose, Vedic culture predates all other cultures, historians cannot agree conclusively as to how old that culture existed before our present Christianity.

If you might care check this Youtube video on anchient Vedan thinking .

Mike, as ever, you throw something interesting into the mix !

So we have a thermo nuclear device to warm us and give life to the earth that is in a state virtual self perpetuation but when it get a little too active a safety device popes in to action to protect the planet.

How did the earth evolve this action and to what purpose ?

However if their is a creator it makes pefect sense.

Nothing senses it's one magnetic field being attracted to another.

If the laws of physics where not the way they were we wouldn't exist to ask these questions, but that doesn't mean the universe was designed just that the law of the universe as we know them appear to support life. That's all.

I'll do it for you.

That looks considerably smaller than the asteroid which lead to the moon.

Clearly done by "The Creator", EFL - "He" did a big blob of water, then thought "Nads! I need a bit more!" Hence, the little blob next to it.....

Well he could have used the toilet.

its this above that stops, any debates, mocking and inflamatary comments
rather than say what you might believe how things came about or not.

I think it's a shame that you don't have a sense of humour.

resurrecting (groan) an old thread here. But I was reminded of of good example of the enormity of probabilty.

Deal a standard pack of 52 randomly shuffled playing cards out. Note the order they came out. With a incredibly close to 100% probability that order of cards has never been dealt before and with an incredibly close to 100% probability never will be again in the lifetime of our solar system. But you just did it!! Well done!

There are 52! possible orders for a deck of 52 cards. If a unique order of a deck of 52 unique cards had been created every second since the big bang, the chances that any two of them were repeated is approximated by
1−(1−1/52!)(10 E17)=1.2397999×10 E−51 .

To show the size of this number, assume that the same shuffling has taken place every second on one planet orbiting every one of the estimated 10 E24 stars in the known universe since the beginning of time. The chances that all of those orders has been unique is still
99.999999999999999999999999876%

(I guess I really should take the time to work it out, but I nicked that from another forum!!)

Looks about reet.

EddieM,

So huge mathematical odds against one particular scenario occurring are irrelevant if that scenario has occurred.

There is no need to explain the uniqueness of a particular deal from a random shuffle ie no one rigged the deck.

Not sure what you mean, but the card example illustrates that even in something as mundane as dealing out a randomly shuffled pack of cards, the outcome is almost certainly unique (at this moment in time) due to its incredible improbability, but you just did it.
