Twin and Earth

TLC prices are ex-VAT making their actual price for the BYB also nigh on £80
As has been pointed out, virtually all books (including BS7671) are 'zero rated' for VAT. In case you're not convinced, I've just gone through the motions of ordering from TLC ....

Kind Regards, John

Actually, books are subject to VAT, but at 0%. If you are a publisher, it really matters.
Indeed so. As you say, they are 'zero rated', not 'exempt' - and, as you point out, that is important to those who produce them.

Kind Regards, John

Jolly good.

Please lend me some money - it will of course be subject to interest on repayment.

I'm always the mug on this forum, I never get to be the pedantic one so I really enjoyed that.

When de-rating, what's the process when many methods are used. Example:

From CU on ground floor upto loft via conduit buried in a chase all the way up (so over 5m long), then through the joist bays covered in insulation exceeding 100mm thickness.

That's method A and 101#

Take the 'worst' method?

Just for conformation, am I using the correct tables in relation to Twin and earth?

Yep (assuming the first page includes whatever installation method you're interested in).

Keep your head down - the Copyright Police might be after you :-)

Kind Regards, John

Copy right police? Its from BS7671
Exactly - and page 2 of BS7671 says:
This document is copyright under the Berne Convention .... this publication may be reproduced, stored or transmitted, in any form or by any means, only with the prior permission in writing of the publishers ... or with the terms of licences issued by the Copyright Licensing Agency....

That applies to something like this?!? Thats just criminal. This is a legal document, and its not like I am selling it. I find it hard to believe this is the intention of that rule, especially considering Copyrighted regs from all over the world are posted in other forums without issue, even used as stickies.
