John Harrison, bad gas advice

It's time the site owner and the mods stepped up and banned this clown from giving conflicting/bad and potentially dangerous gas advice.

Whilst idiots like him are allowed then this forum has no hope!

Is the post count really worth him ruining so many threads and how many posters will continue to use the forum when they read such conflicting advice without knowing which is viable?

At least when Dickie was trolling it was obvious he was on a wind up!

His views are expressed very strongly, but surely the rest of you can drown him out? You've done alright so far.

I don't know why he has these obsessions about gas work being in the domain of everyone, I think most readers would be sceptical of his views. After all, there are still scientologists and square earth believers, holocaust deniers etc. All the time such people have a voice, how can you ban Mr Harrison?

Especially as he will just pop up again under a different name. Personally, I think some of you are just fed up with him pushing Intergas, I bet that rankles!

Nothing wrong with people having an opinion but presenting themselves as an expert and giving flat out wrong and dangerous advice to people that don't have the knowledge to see how crap it is can't be good for the forum or the posters.

Without question other forums do more to monitor threads with Gas questions, all a Mod needs to do is press the delete button or ban any individual who's hell bent on helping DIY gas work.

My own view is 'John' is not Water Systems, Dr Drivel etc etc.

Is there any sort of precedent to this fear?, I always wonder why this keeps coming up. When I was learning I got my study books from a public college library and details instructions from manufacturers in their instructions in the book which is mandatory to be left with the appliance. I'm not advocating giving out advice, just curious.

Please Raise Alerts every time he says something which is wrong and point out what's wrong. Or if he encourages DIY gas work. There is a "free speech" opinion to balance with.
Unless Alerts are raised, Mods/Admin are unlikely to see his posts.

So, you're a course cowboy & not a real tradesman. A tradesman has done an apprenticeship & completed all his/her training during that apprenticeship.

Unlike a chancer like you, I can read a Haynes manual but would never call myself a motor mechanic!! A Mechanic, like a Real Plumber/Heating Engineer does an apprenticeship.
