Will a pressurised water tank make my tap work?

Hi, just had a new bathroom fitted, and to my annoyance, the waterfall style faucet dribbles out the hot water, only when the cold tap is fully open does it work.
My plumber then installed a 2 bar pump, but it still didn't flow properly and dribbled out.
The manufacturer says i need 3 - 5 bar pressure for the faucet to function.
My plumber said the only option is to have a vented pressurised tank fitted. I have come this far, so i will go with his advise, but I need to be 100% sure that this will work, what do you think??

FYI - currently when the cold water tap is fully open, the tap flows OK, as soon as i attempt to mix it with even the smallest amount of hot, then it dribbles!

Check the hot and cold feeds to the mixer are the correct way round before you do anything else.

If you need 3 bar, you need 3 bar.

Can your plumber count? Read even?

What taps do you have? I have installed a few of these and the minimum is normally 1 bar, unequal pressures dont help either.

thanks for the reply, well when the cold tap is turned or, cold water comes out, and hot comes out of the hot tap, does this satisfy you above check?

the tap is unbranded and came as part of a complete whirlpool bath from Home Deluxe Germany!

So it isn't a mixer tap with thermostatic control, but has individual hot and cold taps. In which case it doesn't really matter if the cold and cold are exchanged, only the labels on the taps would be wrong.

If you are happy with the cold water performance and you have sufficient incoming water flow, you should be happy with a PHWSV.

Is the cold feed from cold water storage tank or from main cold water?

What system have you got?

Does other hot taps work?

Do the taps have flexible tube?

What system have you got – gravity fed, hot water tank and conventional boiler

Does other hot taps work – yes, the flow is typically 30%-40% less that the cold, but they do flow

Do the taps have flexible tube? – yes ½ inch, a quite a few of them, see above image “img 8680”

Insufficient hot water pressure on hot water, the taps is unsuitable for low pressure system which is the hot water system.

You need to find out the spec of the taps to see what working pressure need to make it work.

Either a combi or a booster pump for hot water will solve it. Flexible tubes does'nt help either.

Thanks Daniel. We tried a 2 bar pump which didn't work... Manufacturers since told me the taps need min 3 bar, so airing on the side of getting a unvented tank if it works?!?
