How often to support JG plastic pipe

I'm doing a new bathroom fit and am going to use fittings and pipe from the JG Speedfit range.

When laying across joists the support is already there but when going with the joists how often should the pipe be clipped to prevent 'undue stress' as stated in the JG fitting instructions.

Can it just be laid on the ceiling below?

The plastic will be used for hot water and central heating.

Generally plastic pipes can be just laid on the ceiling.

But I always use foam insulation on hot water supply pipes!

On a vertical surface with a horizontal pipe then it looks best if clipped every 300-400 mm otherwise the sag between clips looks bad.

Fortunately all pipework will be under the floor or in vanity furniture.

Primarily for heat loss but it also avoids adding heat to cables or to cold water pipes!

It makes an amazing difference having the pipes already hot as mostly it saves running taps and wasting time and water. Always surprising to me how few ever insulate hot pipes! In spite of building regs.

I don't like plastic pipes! Copper every time!

But plastic does have its place where copper is not possible due to access etc.

But I only clip plastic pipe where necessary to support it or hold it in place.

So you use normally use copper, but when you have to use plastic you cut corners and bodge the job?
