Building regs - flues discharging on to adjoining properties

That's fantastic Woody - thank you.

I will start another thread, soon as I get chance. In this instance, the risk of them building something 'up against' the flue are utterly minimal. The existing boiler has been there for 20 years or so and the location is well away (100m) from their main building. There could be little objection on safety grounds and if they ever did decide to build up against out wall, then so be it, we'd just have to move the boiler or get a kit to convert it to a through-roof flue.

The written agreement we can do, without any commitment on their side, but just making it clear that they agree. Easy enough.

The big question will be how to get someone/anyone either at Building Regs or (ideally) Gas Safe to say that it is ok to do it. Gas Safe seemed like all that is worse in customer service when I called them and just said "It's not allowed". They didn't really want to know about how the Approved Document J didn't really cater for this scenario and just stated that the flue end is within 600 mm of the wall. Which is true, but not what that document says and I cannot see that's what it intended.

Cheers
