Single Storey Extension

I left the tapered edge on. I was quoted £1450 to skim the two rooms and the corridor, so I am doing likewise. If it turns out bad I'll have to get someone in, if not,...happy days.

All tape and jointed, rubbed down and sealed. Electric second fix is completed. So now to put some paint on.

One room done, apart from the skirting boards and architrave.

Have you got an expansion gap around that floor, there should be 10mm at least all the way round. I ask as I can't see any spacers. If you haven't the floor may buckle, especially with underfloor heating which will cost a fortune to run!

Otherwise I think you are doing a cracking job for your budget.

True I didn't use spacers, but I have made sure there is a 10mm gap, so we are good on that. As for cost, well time will tell. The rest of the house is oil fired central heating and the heat from the corridor will venture into these rooms too. Underfloor was mostly about not loosing wall space.

And thanks for the compliment, more than once I have wondered if we were doing the right thing but now I can see that we are almost there and it will all be worthwhile. These extra rooms will mean we can foster more children.

Undercoats going on and the feature wall in this room has its first coat.

The old back door through to the utility room has been made good using a door lining and architrave. All painted and glossed out in the corridor.
