Shower mixer problem

hi guys,

Please can someone help me figure out what i have done wrong?

The backplate is flush against the wall, but the arms dont reach the wall unless the nuts are loose. If they are loose they dont compress the olive. Im really confused.

Where there any conical covers in the box. What's the model of the mixer.

Nope, everything in the box was used in the installation, other than a BSP adaptor. I beleive the model is A3091E

Well that's about the worst set of instructions I've come across. Call customer service 01282 446789, and see what they have to say. Is it possible that you need to push the nut assembly backwards as you tighten it; is there any freeplay in it that hasn't come to light yet.

There is no play at all. Perhaps i got a duff unit. I will give them a call

Could you hide that gap using a couple of flat chrome radiator decor shrouds/pipe collars?

Could you of nipped the olive up to the pipe before it was pushed into place properly just a suggestion

Have you used countersunk screw heads in the backplate ?

Hi, i used the screws that came with the unit. The valve is in the backplate correctly and the back plate is flush to the tile. All i can think is that the ive over tightened the compression nuts on to the pipes, but they arent that tight really.

But once you've tighten them they lock the olive into place might be a case of turning water off taking it back off wall and moving olives back further to close the gap

Hi, i used the screws that came with the unit. .

They don't normally give screws for the back plate, the screws they do give are dome headed and are for the riser rails, are the screws countersunk that you used for the backplate ?

Hi, in the photo the flanges are sat on the nuts, these discs are. Not part of the nuts. i did this in the photo so i could show the gap.

Re: the backplate screws, i was only replacing the valve and the instructions show the only screws in the box being used to attach the backplate. There is no gap between the valve, backplate and wall, its as fat back as it can go.

If i move the olives back, wont they just move forward again as i tighten the nut. Its almost like i need extra wide olives so the nut doesnt have to be tightened so much. P.s i am using the olives from that came with the valve.

My last go at this so.... have you completely loosened the allen screw at the bottom of the wall plate ? they can hold the shower body further out than its supposed to if you dont get it right.
