Swmbo has decided she doesn't want any dust falling on to our stuff stored in the loft. I was planning on running some breathable membrane horizontally across the roof, stapling it to the rafters. But she feels that having the rafters visible would be a nice "feature" (in a room where no one's going to except to get some decorations or the odd suitcase).

Above the rafters is a membrane and above that are the tiles. Am I okay to run the lining vertically whilst stapling to the inner faces of the rafters?

Or is it just a silly idea?

get new wife.
Believe me, I've toyed with the idea. It's like she decided we should have a vegetable patch, despite the fact that she has no interest in gardening. Just thought it would be a good idea. Which means I've now got to learn about growing veg.

absolutely ridiculous just do it as you suggested originally. start from the top though so that each sheet overlaps in front as you go down so that your dust slides to the bottom. Bet she doesn't go up there again anyway

Thanks. That's why I thought but sometimes you encounter something so silly you have to check it really is silly.
