Recent referendum in RoI

It is Ironic that those who believe that all human life should be respected are portrayed as backward while those who promote the killing of unborn children as healthcare are portrayed as compassionate and civilised.
I think it's fairly compassionate and civilised to offer a woman who has been raped a termination if she wishes.

The last time the N.I.assembly had a vote on this issue they voted 2 to 1 against a change in the law.
I think your maths is suspect.
A proposal to legalise abortion in cases of fatal foetal abnormality was defeated in the Northern Ireland Assembly in February (2016) by 59 votes to 40...
Precious Life had vowed to "expose" any MLA who voted in favour of the new legislation.

The make up the NI Assembly at the time was DUP 38, SF 28, UUP 16, SDLP 12, others 13.

Times change and the DUP stance against abortion might bring about even more change.

As you say, the important point is that it is about "choice".
Denial of abortion under more or less any circumstances is absolutely not about choice, but 'my opinion is more important than your opinion'.

Abortion ends a human life, that is not an opinion that is a fact.
Whether women should have the right to kill their own children is a matter of opinion ,it is not an absolute truth.

I wonder if all these supporters of abortion would vote for a law which allowed a 3rd party to target them for 'termination' without their consent.

The evil Liberal mentality which was responsible for the 1967 act in Britain is the same evil which has overseen the destruction of white Britain as a homogeneous nation, they opened the floodgates of mass immigration and the results are there for all to see.
As you sow ,so shall you reap as the man said.
Well I think I can safely say that your diatribe is about the worst bit of f ucked up thinking I've seen on this forum!

Not only do you despise the thought of personal choice*, but you manage to add in a large dose of racism!

*It's just a pity that your parents didn't decide to exercise that 'choice' !

Since when has the truth been racist,Britain used to be a white Christian country it is no longer, you should look up the definition of choice, if someone says they would prefer to live in a white Christian society you would deny them that right by slandering them as racists.
You are the real bigot mate.

The sad thing about a racist is that they don't realise how stupid they look when trying to justify their hatred of different coloured people, who may also have a different choice of imaginary friend...

But hey, if you wish to reside in a 'white christian country' then I'm afraid you're out of luck.

Either live with it or continue to be that sad bitter twisted individual!

Thank you for pointing that out, I have amended my post to 3/2 against which is still a substantial majority.
Maybe then, but 2.5 years ago the world was a different place.
Now the make up of the Assembly has changed substantially:
DUP 27
SF 27
SDLP 12
UUP 10
Others 14

That is 40 Unionists, 39 Nationalists and 11 others.

It was then (Feb 2016) 56 Unionists, 43 Nationalists, and 9 others.

Then you agree - it is down to opinion, not an absolute truth. Nobodies 'truth', not the church, not the priests, not the government. The opinion (and choice) is of the woman and possibly partner concerned and it should only be that. Nobody else making or taking away that choice.

Yes I agree that is a matter of opinion as to whether a woman should be allowed to kill her unborn child, a lot of people believe a woman should have that right others don't.

The above result has to be put into context, in that election the DUP did badly because a lot of Unionists didn't vote due to a political scandal involving the DUP however at the General election the DUP got it's biggest ever vote.

keep whistling, norcon.

It's very dark where you are.
