The one way around this is to set up our Asylum headquarters in let's say Turkey.
Anyone applying for Asylum to this country has to apply in Turkey.
If they are picked up on the English channel or a UK beach, they will then be taken to Turkey to apply for Asylum

Not good for people traffickers and less deaths

What would Turkey want for this?

The setting up of such transit camps has already been explored in other countries, without results, so far.
The suggested countries refuse to agree to it, not surprisingly.
How about we set up such camps in UK?

They already have a very limited schengen access, (Turkey is working towards visa-free access to EU countries), and a customs union.

This customs union has been in development since 1959!

It also means that UK would have to develop a new arrangement with Turkey for trade. But this is a digression.

Send them ALL back, we've enough to do looking after our own,, we're full up we don't want them!! Send them back to France.

We've already established that is not a viable or legal option.
Unless, you prefer the non-viable, illegal options?
In which case I'd prefer the immigrants. They're probably more law-abiding.
