Can't remove shower mixer cartridge

Hi guys hoping somebody can help - i removed the on/off cartridge with a deep socket on the nut but can't figure out how to remove the mixer?? I've got a leak down the cold water pipe behind the wall - the mixer hasn't actually worked in as long as i can remember but was always a decent temp so was no problem. I want to get the plate off to have a look at the pipework behind but can't get this bottom cartridge out?? Thanks

Plate is probably stuck to tiles with silicon. Careful use of a long flexible bladed knife. I have an old bread knife for this type of job.

Yes i can pull it off the wall some but the bottom cartridge seems to be stopping it. I thought the plate might slip over it but that doesn't seem to be the case - feels like it's pulling the unit behind the plate with it

Sorry to bump but can anybody help me out here I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the mixer cartridge out??
