Block paving seal, whats best ?

Hi everyone I have recently had the drive block paved with beamish cobble in grey and I am after a little advice regarding sealing of the drive. the drive is 54m2 and I have been quoted £297 to do the job only had one quote so will get a few more. I will be waiting until spring so can hopefully get a few decent days together , was debating doing it myself but the seal is a a fortune so might just pay the extra to get done.

the company said it uses a site called smart seal they have a few different seals

block paving sealer in matt/silk and also a block paving sealer-polyurethane (ultra durable)

can anyone tell me what the difference is and what the polyurethane brings ? its only a little extra and the 23L tub says will seal 46sq meters first coat and 80sq meters 2nd coat but I image it would go further. just checked and the normal sealer (not the polyurethane) it does 2.0m2 first coat and 3.5m2 per litre 2nd coat so think this will be better choice.

North east mate, would you tackle it yourself ? Would i need to clean the area agai or after few months will it be ok to just top the sand and seal?

Do it ya self 4hrs top on a nice sunny week end save you a mint
Cheap Roller on a broom stick...

From a contractor point of view, i hate the fekin stuff.
Trying to get it off when repairing and relaying is a pita.

That said go for a low shine or matt look, gloss just looks like shiny concrete to me

Will get a pic up when i am off mate thanks for that, and i want sealed to keep amd protect the colour and again oil leaks etc.

I think will do myself and save a few hundred pounds

Used 'Thompsons Clear One Coat Patio and Block Paving Seal' a couple of years ago.

As mentioned above, a quick job with a roller. Although I'd go for a cloudy warm day. Matt finish, and blocks still looking as clean as when it was applied.

I used Resiblock on my new block paved driveway, brilliant stuff. Kept my drive weed free for about 5 yrs. Im about to clean the drive, top up the jointing sand and reapply.
