How to tighten mixer tap mounting?

…if that makes sense? I’m trying to help a woman out here, and I’m hopeless at anything remotely connected with plumbing…

She has a mixer tap on her kitchen sink, and it (I mean the whole tap unit) rotates when you try to open or close the tap. It’s all extremely cramped underneath, so I can’t really see or take a pic, but I think I can feel a long stud with a nut on it – do I just have to tighten that?

If so, what the *!@!! tool would you use?

Cheers... couple of items on that page - would the "Monument Tools Monobloc Spanner Set 5 Pcs" do the job? There's a 2-piece "Monument Tools Tap Backnut Spanner Set 2 Pieces" option too, but I'd sooner buy a whole set for other things if they'll do...

The 5 piece is for monobloc taps ,the other one is for basin and bath tap back nuts ( much bigger nuts)

OK, you've got me. Just bought a set from SF, and can't for the life of me figure out what the little stepped thingy is for. I mean yes, I've worked out that it fits in the end of the boxes, but what would you drive it with? Hasn't got hex or ½" capability
