Notch says it's not happening and nosey says were getting brino so I wouldn't worry too much.
Let just correct you.

I know like facts.

I said no deal will only result in more negotiations leading to close alignment with the EU.

For those that do not understand, close alignment = BRINO.

The millennium bug was a non event BECAUSE of PLANNING !!!!
Several of my friends spent several years rewriting code to ensure that stuff didn't happen
That doesn't mean that "it was a damp squib"

You'd need to be a complete idiot to think that planning for an event which turns out to go smoothly means that the planning was a waste. It's precisely because of the work done that it turned out ok

I am well aware of the testing and the patches which were made to code, I know several who were involved with that. The point I was trying to make was that it was predicted by the media that the sky would fall in, banks wouldn't work, that it was going to be a complete disaster for the country - in fact it all went pretty smoothly.

Sounds like the millennium bug, which became a damp squid

Gosh I didnt realise there were Leavers still trotting that one out.

That was a known single problem which was engineered out.

No deal is a known probbem, it cant be engineered out.

Maybe house prices will plummet, maybe some good would come of it.

Actually scrub all that it's a patent disaster, let's forget about it.

Rubbish, how did we manage pre-EU?

You raise an important point.
The integration of trade and regulations is something rarely mentioned by the media -or politicians.

This is answers your question:
Pre-EU the UK had its own trade deals and its own regulations.

Now after 40+ years the EU has create frictionless trade for member states. Around the world the EU has built up 759 trade agreements with 160 countries.

If the UK leave without a deal, all of this disappears.

The millenium bug was a single issue event.

Every trade deal is like a millenium bug to be sorted......but much worse because trade deals need to be negotiated with other nations that have their own agenda.

How does the UK trade without trade deals in place?
Answer: it goes back to the EU for a deal

Not to mention a number of remoaner nutters foaming at the mouth on a diy forum.

Heres a tip for you: when you cant absorb facts, why dont you respond with a few insults.

Oh hang on, its seems youve managed to work that one out :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Go far enough back and we had the empire to plunder for resources...

Prior to joining, the UK was known as the 'sick man of Europe'!

After joining, we have outstripped even Germany and the US in growth terms...

Funnily enough, when we leave we no longer have an empire...

And those we previously exploited no doubt have long memories when it comes to negotiating those wonderful new deals!

That is an interesting point.

You were fully aware that the world was prepared for the millenium bug.
And you understand that the testing and patches prevented a problem.

In the case of a no deal Brexit, the UK has 0 trade deals in place, it has no infrastructure in place for border checks and customs clearance paperwork.

So the millenium bug argument makes a case against Brexit.

That is your argument not mine.
