Electric Oven is humming but no power is running to it..

My electric oven is making a humming sound while there is no power running to it, I have switched it of from the mains and the electric plug on the wall.. But the humming is still there. This only started happening this morning, in the last week or so when I switch on the electric oven a loud grating sound is made.. I believe this to be the fan at the rear of the oven. It lasts for a minute or two then continues as normal. What really is now worrying me is the sound that it is making now as no power is running to it.. I've switched the electrical of though out the house, still humming, I've switched the water of ( just in case theres a leak somewhere as it sounds like a water pressure sound?) it's still humming, I've turned the gas of from the mains (just in case there's a gas leak) still humming.. I'm at a loss and really worried and I don't know what to do.. Does an electric oven have a back up power to make this noise? The noise has been from 8am this morning and still going strong now.. The noise seems to be coming from the bottom rear of the built in oven.. A humming sound, mixed in with a rattle snake sound.. Could it be an electrical short or something.. I'm lost.. Please help..?

Probably the heating element distorted, likely to fail soon. Noise stops as the element changes shape when it heats up.

Does an electric oven have a back up power to make this noise?

No.
The noise is something else unrelated to the oven.
Switch off the power and remove the oven from the cabinet.

Thank you flameport for your reply, I'm just worried it could be a gas leak or water leak, I don't know anything else that could make that noise.. (I can not smell gas) I have switched water of at mains.. Other then the oven having had recent problems with it.. I'm at a loss..

Is it definitely humming as opposed to 'buzzing'?

Knew a guy once who had buzzing in his airing cupboard. Cupboard was in daily use by all the family for towels, sheets etc.
Thinking it was the immersion heater he isolated it but the buzzing kept going so he started emptying the cupboard and removing the insulated jacket. As he pulled it from around the back of the tank he discovered a wasp nest. That was the source of the buzzing/humming.
If your 'humming' continues long after isolating I suggest you be very careful and keep all young children out of the area.

Almost certainly off topic, apologies for that, but some parts of the country have a natural hum, I don't mean smell. Most people are insensitive to it, but for some it drives them nuts.
