OK you've just had these 3 wardrobe doors fitted to an existing cupboard in the hallway, 3 doors 520mm x 2200mm each basic framework for the 3 doors. Each door hanging off 4x standard soft close cupboard hinges. Doors finished in white radius or bull nose finish all round, no handles supplied. Fitted in 3hours by 2 men.

You get the bill through how much do you expect?

OK Mr Notch you are the closest so far.

They invoiced 1120. (where the extra 20pounds came from i don't know)

Personally i was expecting about 700 pounds as they really are nothing fancy nor is the wobbly frame they put in. I know these doors supplied to me non trade are about 100each so that's 300 plus materials say 50quid. That's 750 for two men for less than half a day each, if that was me paying i would feel violated or at least checked my back passage after.

So, £300 labour, plus £300 materials, plus the mystery ****take of £600, so £1200.
Sounds about right.

This is why I started DIY - everbody charges so much these days. I don't mind paying a professional a sensible hourly rate or day rate + materials, but everybody quotes something that is way beyond sensible these days. Unless £100 a hour is considered fair for somebody to break concrete or hang a door.

my guesstimate was £150 per door, £150 frame and hinges
labour full day for 2 people £200 x 2

i suppose vat could be on top

£700 is probably a fair price really. £1120 is too much
