RAC, AA or Green Flag

And again. It’s that time again, our AA breakdown insurance is up for renewal. I have it mainly for the relay service so that I can get our cars back to my workshop. We have three cars and a motorbike between us plus, with it being personal cover instead of car specific, it covers us in any car we are driving or travelling in as a passenger. Renewal price for me and the wife in any car, £197.36. New customer price £159. New customer price through TopCashback.co.uk £159 plus I get just over £75 cashback bringing the price down to £84. Guess which I’m going for?

I pay £19 per month for my bank account.
Amongst other things I get AA cover
Phone insurance
Travel insurance

Worth a look

Possibly. Phone covered on household insurance though and travel insurance dependant on age, areas, cruise cover etc plus any medical conditions.

Got an even better deal! All the above but with £535 a time towards parts and labour breakdown costs on our Evoque. £245 less £162 cashback comes out actually cheaper at £83. Bought it today.

There are plenty of credit cards that give travel and breakdown insurance. Some even give you access to airport lounges too.

mrs motorbiking has a nationwide one and it covers the whole family.

Just looked at that and it seems a good deal. £156 a year for worldwide family travel, car breakdown and mobile phone insurance. If I hadn’t already bought mine I’d have probably gone for that. £156 a year is not much more than I will be paying for my travel insurance on its own so may swap to that deal when my existing policy expires. Thanks. (n)

I'm due for car insurance renewal next month and AA are cheapest at £196 including breakdown which is home start right up to nationwide transport coverage and garage of my choice.

If I remember rightly you also get 2 year warranty on goods even if the Nationwide card wasn't used to purchase them.

nope

did I mention the travel insurance covers skiing, snowboarding, windsurfing and sailing.

Does the travel insurance cover pre existing conditions, we have it through house insurance but does not cover diabetes, blood pressure etc so I have to get a stand alone policy

I think it covers some for free, others for a fee or if you don’t want those conditions you can forgo the cover for that illness. I don’t think my successful hernia operation or low scoring prostate cancer is going to give me grief on holiday.

As long as you declare them first you should be ok
