Hi,

I've used dulux satinwood oil based on this but accidents will happen and it got scraped chipped.

I've got half a tin of water based I used elsewhere available to use.

Would I be asking for trouble if I primed then used the Waterbased stuff on this section?

Or would it be better to do the full four corners? It is quite low down so not in eyelines :)

you could do the 2 faces up to just above the damage. Strangely the setup and proximity of the door looks just like my old house - would it be a chalet bungalow with dark brick and tiles. Not the only one, several the same - spooky or coincidence?

No mate lol, isolation playing mind tricks?

I've primed the whole side with some Bin primer at the moment. Lets see how that goes.

I'd have given it a bit of a rub down, 2 coats of bin and then whatever satinwood you want over it up to the next feature on the newel, hiding any paint joint. I've had enough of newels and spindles for a bit though after this :-
