Hey

I am looking to get some heat for the patio when sitting out in the evening. I was looking at fire pit or chiminea however the smell and prob complaints are putting me off, plus a fair bit involved to get them going. More looking for something quick that can be put on last min and might only be for a little time.

Gas patio heater or electric infra red heater? I have seen the gas ones and they are good but costly I beleive.

I've never had any experience with the electric infra red ones can anyone comment on these? Couple below I have seen the below as couple options

Chimineas are extremely easy to get started with the modern firelighters available. Personally I'd steer clear of an open fire pit as the smoke billows all over you - at least a chimenea directs it upwards! That said, you could buy more expensive (and less smokey) fuel for either. Gas patio heaters are an environmental abomination (though I know fires aren't exactly good either)

Electric ones are very power hungry.

I would stick to a gas one if you want convenience.

I had thought that about electric heaters but upon reading a few articles and reviews they are cheaper than gas ones to run. Not sure how true the claims are.
