Hello, I woke up this morning with the boiler flashing every 0.5 secs after realising the water wasn’t heating up.

I have tried leaving the filling loop open and only fills to 3.5 bars. I have bled all my rads and it is now at 1.5 bars but I still have the same issue.

No heating or hot water and the green light still flashes when I turn on the ch or try just run hot water by itself. I have checked the spindle behind the on/off switch and that seems to be fine. I have also tried to reset a few times.

hope someone can help, thank you in advanced.

3.5 bar is far to high a pressure, you should only fill up to 1 / 1.5 bar, at 3 bar the pressure releif valve opens and ejects the additional water.

next up, you are going to get flamed by so many folk on here as you have the front cover off the boiler...

lastly, i think the green light flashing is a sequence. this usually denotes as some form of fault code and will point you in the right direction of what needs fixing.

Hi that was an old photo and the pressure is now at 1.5 bars when I bled the rads.

I only had the front cover off to take photos of there is anything back there I can try to fix the issue.

the manual says that it is a temp fault with the aps but that doesn’t make much sense to me.

when resetting did you hold it in the zero position for 2 minutes?

there is a vokera technician on these forums @vulcancontinental i think it is, might be along at some point

Yeah I tried leaving it on the on/off position for an hour whilst I had my 1 hour of exercise haha

Update*

so the boiler has now fired and working properly.

if anyone had any idea as to what the mysterious problem could have been please let me know as it is such a strange fault.

I will post more updates if the situation changes again.
Thanks for the replies

No issue there, the case on that boiler is decorative and doesn't form the room seal.

OP, never fill your boiler up over 2 bar. As you get closer to 3 bar the pressure release valve starts to lift and on that age of boiler it may not seal properly again.

Did the green flashing light ever change color?

No the colour never changed from Green which is the strange thing. It’ll remain a mystery for me

Green solid it's firing green slow flash in standby. If it's working now but wasn't with the hot tap running did you try it with the heating? When you ran the tap did the fan start?

Just back on these forums as the problem has re occurred. I tried it with the heating and is the same issue. I can hear a fan when I turn on the water. Just a click when turning the water on and off @vulcancontinental

First thing get it serviced by someone who understands the boiler. I think it's straightforward but not to be tackled by non-registered gas engineer.

So I got the boiler serviced and there was a whole bunch of bugs and stuff in there as it hadn’t been sealed from the outside. I have not longer moved into the property and probably have had it serviced a lot sooner. Thanks so much for your help @vulcancontinental

was nothing to do with bugs and stuff as you say, and nothing to do with the flue not being sealed from outside, seems you got someone who knows the boiler though and get them to service it every year. Most of us know what it was but not a Diy job
