Now I've never been a fan of Dolly Parton, but her 'legends set' at Glastonbury was fun to watch...

It's just been revealed the reason she was ahead of the game when she dropped the word 'dixie' from one of her attraction shows...

"There’s such a thing as innocent ignorance, and so many of us are guilty of that"

"As soon as you realize that (something) is a problem, you should fix it,"

"Don’t be a dumbass"

Wise words indeed...

Tricky subject.

I recently saw and thought Warner Bros' warning on their cartoons was a fairly well measured response to what was considered acceptable attidudes when the cartoons were made.

Jeez! What's wrong with the word dixie, Elly? (I'm not really interested, but hey-ho.) Do we need to microscopically examine everything said and written since the dawn of time, in some kind of demented, Orwellian purge?

I've got a confederate flag flying in my garden.

I wondered that.

Wikipedia attributes the name to the area south of the Mason-Dixon line which it is.

HOWEVER, Calamity - there was also a slave owner in NEW YORK called Dixie - so that's all that matters now.

Such is the dumb-asserie of the modern world.

Never mind - enjoy

Oh dear. How many have had heart attacks?

Apparently Chad Valley is now owned by Sainsbury's.

That should see the end of both of them.

Blimey

I have just realised that I may have the word Dixie on the number plate of my corvette

It's under going some work at the moment but I am pretty sure the word is on the plate

It's OK I will change it ASAP

Just like to add that it would have been on it when I bought it

I agree with this.

nothing has been banned, just putting it in context.

Put a tiny leccy motor in it, paint a rainbow on it and call it "Wokey". Don't forget to cry if when you go out in it, there is some weather. Now you're with it!
