Alternative to Gardz for Wallpaper Adhesive Residual

Hi ya! I was wondering if any of you knows of any alternative to Gardz for sealing the wall after removing wallpaper!
I'm on very low income and the place I've just moved into to save money has incredible awful wallpaper. I am ok in doing all the work, I just can't really afford to spend the extra £150 on Gardz.

Do you fellow DIY know of any alternative?

Other than Oil primer/undercoat, cause its pretty much the same price!

Has anyone used Solvite Wall sealer? Would that work?

Is the wallpaper flat and well fixed? If so just paint over the top of it , much less work

Unfortunately it is not , its coming off in most places and its one of those textured ones!

Did you use a steamer to remove the blown vinyl ? If so use it again on the paste and scrape it off , wash walls with sugar soap and a light sand will sort it
