Hi All,

I have a Vaillant combi boiler which has had the following parts replaced

- PRV
- Water inlet / outlet valves
- Something else which i cant remember the name!

I keep losing pressure in the boiler. I have bled all the Rads.

A few days ago I noticed a steady stream of water (constant drip) from the copper pipe outside and I'm not sure if this is supposed to drip so much? I have collected quite a lot of water from this pipe in just a couple of days so I'm wondering if this is where the water is escaping the system.

A boiler repair man said there is probably a leak somewhere in the house but I don't want to pay for an inspection firm to try and located until I have ruled out the actual boiler as being the cause.

Any advice much appreciated!

If this is the copper pipe that's connected to boiler's PRV then yes, that's where you are losing pressure.

Again, If the copper pipe that's dripping outside is definitely the blow off pipe, then replacing it should have fixed that issue. If the PRV is still passing then you need to get the installer back and get him to sort it.

Does the pressure rise to around 3 bar when central heating is running for a while ? If so the EV may not be functioning as it should and the prv is doing its job.
