Is anyone else finding this extremely frustrating? The EU have introduced rules for trading ETFs (exchange traded funds = share of a fund of shares). We are now locked out of a significant amount of investment opportunities. Some of my best performing funds are now locked. My option is to take more risk by trying to map the fund. thanks EU.

The European Union's (EU) Packaged Retail Investment and Insurance-Based Investment Products (PRIIPs) Regulation requires all PRIIPs (ETFs, ETNs and other variable rate, derivative and bundled products) offered to European Economic Area (EEA) resident investors to be accompanied by a Key Information Document (KID) summarizing the product's past performance and explaining how it might perform under certain market conditions. The KID should enhance investor protection and allow investors the ability to compare products.

As of September 25, 2020, this regulation affected which securities EU-residents and and any previously US-domiciled account holders that relocate to an EEA jurisdiction can purchase at E*TRADE or at any broker-dealer firms. To the extent that relevant KIDs are made available by the issuer of a PRIIP, ***** systematically sends a link to the applicable KID via alert upon order placement.

As KIDs from the issuer for ETFs and ETNs are not available, EEA-resident retail account holders may not enter opening orders for ETFs or ETNs at this time. There is no specific timeframe when and which ETFs/ETNs can be traded again.

No problem for sophisticated high net worth individuals :sneaky:. Are you referring to US ETFs, well there are ways and means.

Yep US ETFs are lean and competitive, the EU shadow funds mostly have higher costs and of course currency issues.
