Looking for some advice for what will be the most straightforward to install out of Nest 3rd gen or hive single channel thermostat to my Glow-worm 38cxi combi boiler, which is currently wired to a Honeywell t40 thermostat and has a dial programmer fitted.

See photos of current setup and manual.

Blue and red wire from thermostat 1 and 3 go to the voltage free heating controls.

Boiler is powered by a 3 pin plug, white cable enters boiler here (below photograph).

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Steve

You can use either, but if using the nest do not make any links that you may have seen on other posts

What would be the best way to run a L, N and E to the Nest Heat Link if the boiler is currently on a plug?

Would I also just connect the 2 wires currently going to the thermostat to the heat link terminals 2 and 3?

Thanks

Nest doesnt need an earth, your boiler shouldnt be run by a 3 pin plug, the L&N for the nest must come from the same supply as the boiler
