Hi all
My problem is that whenever there's much rainfall my back garden floods.
The gardens either side of me don't have this problem and their gardens are at the same height as mine.
I can only, possibly incorrectly, assume that it's due to a blocked soakaway.
I'm assuming I have one! The house was built circa 1968.
Two questions;
1. How can this be confirmed, and
2. If this is the case, what is the remedy.

Thanks in advance,

Slime.

You would first run a hose down the pipe when it’s not raining and see if the water comes up through the ground and floods the garden.

Wow that was fast!!
Thanks for that ..................................... but how long would I possibly need to run the hose for?

Do you pay for rainwater drainage on your waste water bill?

Old soakaways are only a pile of hardcore in a hole covered in landscape fabric.

They have a limited life as the silt up.

You can't repair them....proper remedy is dig it up and replace with crates.
