Lack of fisheries deals with Norway, Greenland, Faroes will scupper the fleet

Since Brexit, the UK has failed to deliver a single access agreement with our coastal neighbours. The Government’s Scorecard is getting worse. Kirkella is tied up, and our crews have no work. The UK must make these deals if we are to save distant-waters fishing in the north-east of England.

She added: "In consequence, there will be no British-caught Arctic cod sold through chippies for our national dish.

"It will all be imported from the Norwegians, who will continue to sell their fish products to the UK tariff-free, while we are excluded from these waters. Quite simply, this is a disgrace and a national embarrassment."

Yep...

"And as warmer sea temperatures push cod stocks further north, they cannot replace the cod they have been catching in Norwegian waters by fishing in UK waters instead."

One would have thought that fishermen with half a brain would have noticed this to be happening...

And yet apparently the majority of them stupidly voted brexit anyway...

They probably dumbly thought they could do a bit of 'fish whispering' and entice the cod back south...

No sympathy for them whatsoever!

Funny, before independence, the same happy clappers were saying that the fishing industry was minuscule & didn’t matter.
Now it matters though. Same Cummins, now he’s believable, last year........... hmmm.

Watching these luddites crying they were hoodwinked and lied to by the Tories when it was pointed out to them multiple times does have a sense of schadenfreude.

I dont think you have fully worked that out.

If you are coneststing Cummins has always been a liar, then Bojo defended him last year knowing that he was lying - which then doesn't paint a great picture of Bojo.

In the end the lies and dishonesty will catch up with him, like a repeat adulterer, one day he will be caught with his proverbial pants down.

So, Brexit is now responsible for rising sea temperatures? We'll just have to fish the Icelandic waters then. They share them with their European friends already don't they? Oh no, they don’t, do they. I read that’s why they can’t be full EU members. Dunno if that’s true.

OMG. O’Brian is complete cock. He handpicks callers, speaks over & patronises anyone who doesn’t follow his narrative. Anyone

That is an inverted pyramid of piffle

(which we now know is Johnson-speak for "true.")

The F***** scoundrels Are responsible for the demise of the fishing industry

they deliberately put pressure on other countries to scupper any deal

same as several UK cheese manufacturers

just changed a boiler in a tenanted
Property for the sake of a £10 ( at best) part that was un available

boiler is manufactured in Verona

edit un available meaning un available in the UK at this moment in time

Mottie doesn't care.

But Brexers are very happy, because they WON!

It’s been a long 4 years.

Will there be a trade agreement?
Don't care.

What are the "New Rules?"
Don't care.

Will there be tariffs?
Don't care.

What regulations will apply?
Don't care.

What forms will you fill in to import or export?
Don't care.

Will Johnson breach his "Oven Ready" Withdrawal Agreement?
Don't care.

We'll be out. That’s all I care about and that’s all I voted for.

UK catches about 30 million quids worth of fish in Norwegian waters annually.
Norway catches about 250 million quids worth of fish in UK waters annually.

Norways stance in the negotiations was to maintain that status quo, that would have been a very bad deal.

France is complaining about loss of quotas and access to UK waters.
Netherlands are complaining about loss of quotas and access to UK waters.
Ireland is complaining about the loss of 15% of it's quota and access to UK waters.

Everyone's complaining, lighten up.

Norway has a market of about 450,000,000 to service. And, in addition, EU can freely export to UK without any border checks.
UK has a population of about 65,000,000 to service. (That's people not chip shops)
